To maximize the benefits of our biological services, we recommend scheduling a consultation and examination with Dr. Owens and Dr. Cole. This appointment provides an opportunity to thoroughly address any concerns you may have. During your consultation, you can expect to discuss your diet, sleep patterns, current health issues, and hereditary factors that may influence your oral health.
Imaging
If you have recent x-rays that you would like to transfer in, fill out the Records Release form included in your New Patient Packet, and we can contact your previous dentist to obtain them. Otherwise, we can take x-rays and CBCT scans here in our office. We may also take photographs and intra-oral photos and to aid our doctors in the comprehensive evaluation.
Consultation & Examination
Dr. Owens employs a comprehensive approach to dentistry that is evident during your appointment. After discussing your concerns and goals, both your dentist and hygienist will conduct a thorough assessment of your overall oral health. This includes an extensive examination of your teeth and periodontal (gum) health, an evaluation of your jaw joint and muscle function, as well as an oral cancer screening.
Review of Findings
Following your initial consultation and examination, you will attend a Review of Findings appointment. During this session, Dr. Owens and Dr. Cole will discuss the comprehensive assessment of your oral health, including any diagnoses of current conditions based on your images and exam results. They will also analyze your risk for tooth decay, periodontal disease, and dysfunctional occlusion, and provide recommendations for preventive measures to avoid future issues. This meeting encourages a collaborative approach to your treatment plan and allows for any questions or concerns you may wish to address.
