In your search for a dentist near me in Berthoud, we know there are many offices in northern Colorado from which to choose. However, we are proud to be our three-state area’s premier biological dental practice. Patients travel many miles to benefit from our unique approach to dental care at Owens Dental Berthoud.
Biologic dentistry is built on a strong foundation of holistic, proactive, and collaborative principles. We look beyond symptom management; we focus on treating the root causes of dental issues. Our team partners with a network of like-minded providers and with our patients on preventative, personalized strategies to support oral health. We also understand and support the importance of the oral microbiome, self-healing, and the connection between oral health and total body health. Patients have confidence that we use only the safest materials, the latest science and technologies, and the most conservative treatments.
Biologic dentists practice biocompatible dentistry. This is the fundamental principle (mentioned above) that focuses on the use of only the safest materials. We consider the potential impacts that dental products and materials have on your overall health. You have peace of mind that treatment recommendations will enhance your oral health and overall health and not present new challenges.
We use alternatives to mercury-containing amalgam fillings. Our fillings are made from composite resin, a quartz-like material that is highly compatible with your body’s tissues. Dental composite is not only safe but also attractive. The color of the resin can be matched to the color of the surrounding teeth for a natural-looking result.
“Mercury-safe” is a term that refers to the safe removal of amalgam fillings. It is distinctive from “mercury-free” offices that do not place or use amalgam fillings. Owens Dental Berthoud is both a “mercury-free” and a “mercury-safe” practice. Our team is certified by the International Academy of Oral Medicine & Toxicology in the Safe Mercury Amalgam Removal Technique. To acquire SMART certification, we completed extensive training and made considerable investments in supplies and equipment designed to minimize mercury exposure while removing mercury fillings. These safeguards are in place to protect our patients, team, and the broader community and environment from the many risks associated with this known toxin.
For patients who need more than a filling, we also use biocompatible ceramics like porcelain for dental crowns, bridges, and more. Biocompatibility testing provides the utmost peace of mind because we can identify and avoid any unique risks or sensitivities that you may have.
Owens Dental Berthoud welcomes the opportunity to be your family’s new “dental home.” Serving northern Colorado and beyond, our team can be reached at (970) 444-5464 with further questions and to schedule an appointment.
